Background info

Work experience

Alexandra Velardes was born and raised in the Treasure Valley. She is a maker at her core. In printmaking her focus is in multiple reduction linocuts and pronto plate lithography. Her work examines a number of topics including; the political climate, how societal and cultural expectations effect behavior and a person's identity. She also enjoys making tributes to her favorite pop culture icons. She is inspired by anatomy, both human and animal, along with flora and fauna. Color and expressive marking are consistent identifiers She believes that color is capable of speaking in a way that imagery alone cannot.
